This weeks Random Act of Awesome is inspired by Robyn Bomar who on her 38th birthday decided to celebrate it by performing a Random Act of Kindness for every year she had been alive.
Robyn set off on her birthday in 2010 armed with her husband and two children, to carry out all 38 acts in one day. The entire family worked together and did all kinds of things from loading grocery bags into cars for shoppers to taking art supplies to the maternity ward of a hospital for families waiting for new brothers & sisters to be born.
After capturing and blogging about this experience, Robyn was so overwhelmed by the positive response she received from family, friends and readers she then went on to create what is now ‘The Birthday Project.’ A social enterprise movement with an aim to change the world 1 birthday at a time.
The Birthday Project encourages people to celebrate their birthdays (and other milestones) by giving back to the community the greatest gift of all…. The gift of YOU!

What Robyn began as a thoughtful birthday adventure she has now grown into a thriving community of nearly 20,000 people and rising. Robyn there is so much awesome in this story! Thank you for inspiring the pants off me, I know what I will be doing for my 34th birthday next year.
