News: Awesome? Melbourne? $1,000?

Are You Awesome? Based in Melbourne? Need $1,000? Applications for a September 2015 Awesome Foundation grant close 12pm Tuesday 29 September. Apply now.

You’re awesome. You know it. We know it. But there’s a problem. Sometimes our most awesome work never gets to see the light of day. Sometimes the best ideas are unrealised because they never make it past the first step.

Introducing the Awesome Foundation and your opportunity to earn an easy $1K.

The Awesome Foundation is a global community advancing the interest of awesome in the universe, $1000 at a time.

Each fully autonomous chapter supports awesome projects through micro-grants, usually given out monthly. These micro-grants, $1000 or the local equivalent, come out of pockets of the chapter’s “trustees” and are given on a no-strings-attached basis to people and groups working on awesome projects.

We know how time-consuming and soul-wrenching applying for grants and funding can be, especially when you just want to get started. We want to take the pain out of the process, with just a bit of information about your idea you can quickly have cash in your hand to make it happen. No paperwork, no acquittal, no headaches, just the permission to Be Awesome!

What do we mean by “awesome”? Every AF chapter interprets “awesome” for itself. As such, awesome projects include initiatives in a wide range of areas including arts, technology, community development, and more. Many awesome projects are novel or experimental, and evoke surprise and delight. Awesome sometimes challenges and often inspires. Check out some of the past grant recipients and some of the tips from our Melbourne page and you’ll start to get an idea.

Be Awesome is proud to be a part of the Melbourne chapter of the Awesome Foundation and we look forward to advancing acts of awesome in the community, one grant at a time!

Applications for September 2015 close at 12pm Tuesday 29 September.
